Towing T25 Tyre Pressures

Hi All

New to this towing lark - t25 d4d est what should I set my tyre pressures too...205/55/16

Tyre pressures are on a plate in the passenger door ingo. I'd have them at the high speed pressures for towing anything of weight.

Agree with the full load pressure, however there is more to this than just the tyre pressures.

FInd out what the maximum load is for the towbar and make sure to check this using a bathroom scale and a stick, unless you have a noseweight guage!

Your maximum rear axle load includes whatever is in the boot, the back seat and the nose weight of the towed item..... not forgetting fuel.

I have seen far too many caravanners who simply throw everything in the caravan, three kids in the back seat and a boot full of suitcases, toys and other such stuff.... then the van nose weight is way over as well.....

I measured a friends hitch once and it was 120Kg..... maximum for his car was about 55kg.

Yes tyre pressures are very important but so is distributed loading and balance.
