Gen 7 190 Disc Brakes

My old 2002 Gen 7 is starting to show her age and I've been told the disc brakes on the car are going to need replaced. I've had running repairs done it but the brakes are now scrunching as I slow the car down. I need to know from you experienced hands how much a new set all round will cost, ex-labour. I'd just like some figures to chat to my mechanic about just in case I can get them cheaper than he can. Money, as always, is a factor.

Thanks in advance.

Two things NEVER to skimp on, are brakes and tyres. You should get an idea of cost by checking out carparts4less, or eurocarparts.

The Mtec discs with Mintex pads combination is a very popular choice on the Gen 7.

In case you weren't aware, your front discs are 275mm, not 255mm.

Thanks, Scarlet Arrow.

Never meant to imply I'd skimp on such necessities but I was getting scary prices thrown at me - £600+. I'll just have to bite the bullet. Is this what I'd be looking at:-

The car's going in to the garage at the end of the month so I will mention the options you supplied to my mechanic.

Indeed it is :)

You may be able to get the Mtec/Mintex slightly cheaper, from Stewart at Freaky Parts. Just mention Kev 16v pointed you in his direction.
