New To The Strange World Of 21st Century Vehicles !

So here I am, a long time Land Rover owner and driver - no not the modern stuff full of electronics, just modern enough to have coil springs. So far I've had an 86 90, an 89 90, an 88 110, and a 90 Disco (more or less the same mechanicals as the 90 & 110).

So after almost 1/4 century, I know my way around them, have the manuals, parts books etc.

Before the Land Rovers, I had a short spell with a Renault 11 (not bad, but very "French" handling), and going further back a Mk2 and a Mk1 Escort, and my first Car, a Mk2 Spitfire (in what might be called my "Mr Toad" phase) :toot:

But now I've inherited my Dad's 56 plate Avensis t4 (2l, automatic, 50k miles, in silver fern). Dropped in a foreign land of electronic this, automatic that, and not enough ground clearance to crawl underneath without jacking it up. Until now it's been serviced by the local Toyota main dealer.

Still, it's more comfortable than the Land Rover, goes up hills faster, and drinks less - just costs more to tax and insure. And up till now hasn't ailed anything significant.

Of course, I've got a few questions - I'll start thread in the Avensis forum for those.
