Squeaky High Pitched Noise When Ac On

I would appreciate if you could help with finding the source of that noise.

It starts when I start the engine in the morning with AC turned on.

Turning AC off solves the problem.

What do you think it is?

Local garage couldn't find the reason....

What happens if you start the engine with the a/c off?

If there's no noise then it would have to point to a problem with the compressor/compressor drive. Maybe the clutch, if it has one(could be a swashplate compressor), the drive belt slipping with the extra load or maybe the compressor itself.

It is absolutely fine when I start the engine with A/C off.

So what would be your guess-a clutch,a belt or compressor drive?

That does point to it being related to the a/c compressor or it's drive belt. It's impossible to state which from afar unfortunately. :)

I can only suggest you try another garage to your local one.

Is the a/c blowing chilled air?

i agree totally with mrpj.

you could try some belt dressing spray and see if the squeal goes, if it does buy another belt.
