Oil Change Confusion!

I'll start from the beginning...

Engine flush completed

Drained oil

Changed filter

No issues.

Added my oil

Checked dipper and we're over by a whole lot!!!

Try draining excess...

Nothing comes out!

It gets wireder!

Despite my better judgment we start it up for a few seconds.

Sounds fine

No bangs lol

No warning lights

Check dipper, still over

Try draining

1 pint comes out

So we think, hey well run it a little longer so we can drain some more

Run car for 3 minutes at idel

Again no issues, sounds fine No warning lights

Dipper is still over although has dropped slightly

Try draining some more.... Nothing comes out.

I'm utterly stumped... Anyone have any ideas?!?

Car is Avensis 2002 t22 1.8 vvti auto.

Some gunk inside the sump around the drain plug. Poke the hole with something.

Tried sticking figures, screw drivers in there... Nothing.... Not even sludgey.... Good idea though..

Try removing the dip stick and oil filler cap when you next undo the sump plug.

I think the sump might have to come off. If the strainer gets blocked with whatever is in there you could wreck the engine. I think you've dislodged a lump of sludge from the head by using the engine flush. You might want to use another serving of engine flush - and start again. If the flow improves you might get away without having to drop the sump. Your call.

Good luck
