For Sale £375 in London SE23, 2000 Toyota Corolla GLS 5dr 1.6 VVT-i Manual, Silver, 91K, 2 Owners

Priced to sell the most reliable car we've owned.
Our family has outgrown the vehicle and upcoming bills have led us to opt for a larger more recent car.
Hence would suit someone that wants to address the necessary issues.

Some negatives.
- Tyres need replacing.
- Hand brake cable recently gone. I may and try and contact my local garage who replaced this from scratch at the end of April so not sure why its gone again.
- Rear wiper has not worked since purchase. I've not missed this.
- AC not charged. Again I've not missed this.
- Front Windscreen - slight scratch at the end of driver side wiper blade.
I'm pretty sure there is no timing belt to change as this is the VVT-i model.

Bought from 1 careful owner in 2012
Mileage - 2000-2012 Loughborough 0-74K, 2012 - present London 74k-90K with mileage being added with motorway miles to Wales and Bristol.
1 working key and 1 master key.
Owners Manual
Service Book.

This engine has come to a ripe old age where it needs to be checked for oil every 300 miles.

This is a very well known issue with this model.
We've noticed that when doing long journeys at 80miles per hour, we need 1/4 Litre of engine oil every 300 miles. This seems to be the norm with this engine due to the gear ratio and what happens at revs at the 4000rpm which you only really achieve on the motorway at 80. Since then we've stuck to the speed limit where possible and carried 5L of engine oil which is never a bad idea.

Any questions let me know.
I can send you the full MOT history plus details of the log book.
Its got a good service hisotry with full checks on the 1,2,3,5,6 and 10 year mark in 2011. In betwen 2005 and 2012 all inspections and work were carried out by the Approved Toyota dealership Farmer & Carlisle Loughborough.
I've used an independent since then.
The observant among you may notice a tow point on the back. Not used on our watch as our VW Transporter would testify. No idea when it was fitted as I do not have a receipt for this work.

Previous MOT failures
2005 - Offside Front Headlamp aim too high (hotspot upper edge above the horizontal 0% line)
2008 - Offside Rear brake disc excessively pitted (3.5.1h)
- Brakes imbalanced across an axle (3.7.B.5b)
2012 - Nearside Rear Tyre tread depth below requirements of 1.6mm (4.1.E.1)
- Nearside Front Windscreen wiper does not clear the windscreen effectively (8.2.2)
- Offside Front Windscreen wiper does not clear the windscreen effectively (8.2.2)
2015 - Parking brake: efficiency below requirements (3.7.B.7)
- Parking brake lever has no reserve travel (3.1.6b)
- Nearside Windscreen wiper does not clear the windscreen effectively (8.2.2)
