Clock Reset To 0.00 On Start

Just took out my car for a short trip. After a brief pause in my journey, when I recommenced, I noticed the clock had reset itself to 00.00, and had to be manually set to correct time.

Any ideas?

I don't know how old your car is mate, but I had this on a previous car when the Battery was on the way out. Did you have any issues starting ?

Stu,

Newer than yours (see my profile, and less than 1500 miles)

I have had no trouble starting, nor with the Battery. As I said, it happened when I broke my journey. Can only assume it was a software glitch of some sort. I am assuming it uses main Battery to keep it going, and not a button cell somewhere like in a PC.

During starting, the Battery voltage will drop, but I assume they have designed the clock it so it won't stop / reset when this happens.

i feel like the above post is from stan herbert (harry enfield "considerably richer then you")

the clock would be the last item to stop working on a car as they take so little power.

check the Battery terminals are tight as the new aygo has has issues with them,

i'd then monitor the situation and if it keeps happening then go back to your dealer

Mine did this today. It reset itself but on the next journey it was back to normal again. Very strange but if that's all that goes wrong with the car then I'm happy.

Martin,

Just to clarify, did you correct it, or did it just return to normal?

I corrected mine, so don't know if it would have corrected itself.

Mike

Stu, no offence meant, but you stated you didn't know how old my Aygo was. I was just pointing out it was in my profile (just like yours)

It returned to normal by itself on the next journey and showed the right time. How wired is that!!!!!!

No offence taken, I'm thick skinned. Hope it sorts itself. I know any issue even small ones can be annoying.
