Power Range Of 2015 Aygo

Since upgrading from a 2102 Fire, to the 2015 X-Clusiv, I've noticed a marked lack of power at low revs.

Whereas before I could take a corner in third gear, the slowly accelerate after the turn was completed, I now find I have to drop a gear before it will pull away, especially when a slope is involved. I have even had to drop to 1st in some instances.

Has anyone compared the power curve for the two models? Are they available anywhere?

I find the new model not as flexible as the older model, and perhaps this is why my fuel consumption is not as good (52 mpg versus 56 mpg). Although this could also be due to a tight engine, as it has only done around 1500 miles!

I find the engine a lot more powerful in the new car and a lot quieter. I do find a hesitant spot around 2k revs but only on and off.

I haven't noticed any change in power per se, just a lack of it at low revs. I'm sure it will have a detrimental affect on fuel consumption, keep having to change down.

This model supposed to be more fuel efficient than my previous model, but perhaps that comes at expense of a flexible gearbox.

Time will tell, but not looking too promising at moment.

Just my opinion here..

I have just had a new shape aygo courtesy car for a week, I also thought it was slower in low revs, however I do think it comes very alive in the higher revs, and sounds great over 6k rpm ;) it is also a very solid car. Over 300 miles I managed to get 52mpg, and in my 'old shape aygo, I'm getting more 55 with the same commuting, and not going much over 70mph. I am sure the new car just needed a bit of adapting too, as I was never really paying attention to the shift indicator either. Overall a great car.
