it was with my dash board lit up why key was out of ignition they go out when engine starts but 2 lights stay on oil /airbag and speedo and petrol when keys not in ignition ,i went out ther e last night had a play about and turned on heater to 3 ,and the lights all went out and now its back to normal , so have no idea now toyota say ignition switch but they dont know about me turning on heater and it cleared it as only done last night maybe it was fluke/? , breakdown said could be emmobilser, also you cant use the key to open the doors when the lights stay on when remove key , its like it still thinks key is in there , disconecting Battery dont work it did once not any more , nowthe heater was turned on and its cleared how weird is that , i kow its a tough one as toyota said 25 years as engineer nevr heard fo that happening , so if they dont know , all i got to do now is wait untill it does it again then try the heater again if it clears it all then something to do with that i know the security light that flashes is under neath heater.

I hope its not mot failure, as far as i have been told all lights have to be cleared when engine starts , Just getting frustrated lost 2 cars in 15 months not toyota now this is happening just getting frustrated. thanks any ways .

Did Toyota plug your car into diagnostics?

Usually faults would be logged on the car s ECU even though it only happens once...

How often has this happened?

How long u had the car?

And what car is it?

Thanks mate , twice a week happens , yaris 05 spirit had car 12 months, yes no faults were found on machine . at mo its cleared when put heater on so we see if comes backs and ill watch to see what last thing i do before it comes on like close door ect , have spare key and still does the same so not keys.

Ref MOT failures on dash lights - yeah, test now include that (not sure it includes all the lights????)

I know it is more money.

But if u are hoping to keep car longer - Toyota offers a 2 year extended warranty for £516 .

Not sure if it covers your fault, but...

If your car is less than 10years old (it is!)

And less 100k and has some service history

Then maybe buy that and get Toyota to check car is OK.

If fault returns then maybe they fix / investigate for free???

lol just got in just cant stop laughing,well mate it flew last year being pre checked Tuesday just rang up garage that mots it he said same lights ok as long as go out when start so fingers crossed ill let you know .

At mo cars been great all day in and out of it no lights on so at the mo its good .

Yes looks that way Wayne some people to easy to bite head off i dont take it to heart some forums are quick to find you the answer some are not and to be honest i dont think any one can on this one as no one else knows not even Toyota they will change every part they think it is .

No didnt mean any harm saying what i thought about getting answers i kow know its not a common thing so there you go .
