....a 2005, 2006 or 2007 Corolla Verso D4D 2.0L

What should I look out for?

Are there any major differences (face lifts, engine etc.) in those years?

Can anyone suggest another forum that would be more helpful?

Toyota techdoc lists the Gen 2. as 2004/02 & a facelift 2007/05.

Going from those dates if available at launch would have thought that initially had 1CD engine (essentially bombproof) but would have switched to the 2.0 1AD engine at some point in which case potentially susceptible to that engine's known head/head gasket issues (although seemingly rarer than the same on the 2AD series).

The technical bulletin for the AD problem in the UK includes "Verso with 2AD (Prod. Date: Apr 2005 to Nov 2008)" so no mention of the 1AD being included (possibly not sold in UK in that specification?) but in Eire there may have have been different engine models.

@Heidfirst - Thank you very much for that information. I had heard of head gasket issues but didn't / don't know if they applied to the 2.0L or the 2.2L

You mention 1AD and 2AD (I'm not familiar with engine designations). Is the 2AD the 2.2L or a later 2.0L?

I've updated my post slightly based on a quick Google. They are related designs - 1AD is 2.0l, 2AD is 2.2.

I've read of many more 2.2's with head troubles than 2.0's.
