The Engine Nearly Cuts Out At Low Idle

Hi, I need some help/advice/opinion on this topic.

Last week I had to take my 1.8petrol 2007 car for a check up where the garage took the "fan" belt off. Since the car has developed a problem which is really annoying. Starting the car is ok but when warmed up the Rev starts to jump and drop. It drops to nearly 500rpm and nearly cuts out but then jumps to 1200rpm then drops again. This yoyo effect needs to be solved.

Does anyone have any suggestion?
