Hiace 1996 Auto 3L 2.8L Engine Blown. Recommendations To Rebuild Or Re

The engine on my 1996 auto Hiace camper has blown (loss of power and knocking) big or little ends. Anyway feels pretty terminal.

As it is an import seems very hard to find parts for rebuild or a replacement rebuilt engine.

Any recommendations for garage for rebuilding or replacing. I am southwest in Plymouth but can use RAC to move it to a suitable location.

All very stressful as i was hoping that it would be reliable and has only 136,000 on the clock.

It hasn't done badly to be still on the road after the best part of 20 years.

As regards parts one could try http://bbcspares.com/ - as the Granvia and Townace share some parts, etc with the Hiace

I love the Yokohama conversion and that the van is compact and narrower that UK cars and vans for parking etc.

Just the engine is low powered and thirsty... and now blown,
