Tinting Rear Windows

If I where to tint my rear windows would this need to be announced to the insurer and would it impact insurance costs?

On top of that does it need reporting to the financer (car is on PCP)

Think it needs to be mentioned to the insurer, but it will vary from company to company as to whether the change from standard spec merits an increase in premium. Might be helpful to also know the percentage tint. You could always sound your insurer out before you actually do it.

Wouldn't have thought it needs to be mentioned to the finance company, as all they will want to know is whether the car is adequately insured.

Thanks Frosty, I need to call the insurer as to switch my insurance other so will mention it at the same time. I'm not into the sporty Yaris trim level but love the look of rear tints on a white Yaris.

A spoiler on a tiny car with a 1.33 engine is a bit much!
