Hi!

I want to replace a bad engine in a 2001 1.0 yaris with a 1sz-fe engine.

In my search for a new engine, I have found that there are 2 versions of the engines.
aparantly a 1999-2003 68 hk version and a 2003-2005 65 hk version.

The exhaust manifold are different, And on the left side on the valve cover, just on top of the front cam chain wheel, one version has an extra mount casted.

my 2001 has the manifold with small seperate tubes and no extra mount on the valve covers.

A guy selling an engine which he claims comes from a 2001 also, has the other exhaust manifold and the extra mount on the valvecover.

Does anyone know and more important - are they interchangeable.

Regards brian

looks like I found the answer

Mine is a japaneese build car and the engine offers me, comes from a French.

heres a description of the swaps needed to use a french engine in a jap car.
(I'll not go that route though - just get a jap engine instead)
