My car sometimes dies not pick up speed then when i rev hard goes pass 4000 rpm then starts picking up speed again its hapening alot now

Transmission slip. When was the transmission fluid last checked or changed? 

Mind you, 4000 rpm is the peak torque for the engine, so it could be normal. How long have you owned the car?
