Will clay remove scratches?

Hi my avensis is in need of some tlc so I've ordered a clay stater kit. I was going to clay it, use a scratch remover then polish but wondered if claying alone would do the trick?

clay doen't remove scratches. It just makes more of them, if it's too hard and paint is soft, and if you don't wet it enough etc. But if youre going to polish it after claying, then it doesn't matter.

It wont remove scratches, but the best clay i have used by far is the Bilt Hamber clay, it requires no soapy lubricant, just water.
