Headlights

My 2002 Yaris is suffering from cataracts, like many others.

Has anyone used one of the Headlight Restoration Kits?

Has anyone bought after-market headlights, from E-bay or elsewhere?

Had a headlight done on my Mums Yaris last week at  professional Valet company .only charged £10 a headlight and now looks like new . Might be worth calling into a valet place near you

On my daughters 2003 Yaris, I used 800 wet and dry 1st, then 2000 wet and dry.

Then rubbing compound on a damp cloth and finally ordinary Autoglym polish and they came up fine.

Toothpaste is really only a form of fine compound.

Used the Maguiers one that you can get from Halfords, been pleased with the results :)

That looks pretty good Steve.  Have you shone the headlights at a garage door, or driven it, to see the improvement?

I've done 1 of my Corolla's headlamps using the wet & dry method as outlined above by "jonjosar", followed by Solvol Autosol chrome cleaner (paste) out of the tube - worked well.  Today I notice that the other side needs doing  though not a great problem

I didn't even know this could be done, I can sort my headlight out now.

Sorry to Hi jack this thread, but I didn't see the point in starting a new one. Has anyone else noticed that the Yaris lights are a little... dim? Compared to other cars new cars on the roads now I am constantly being blinded by oncoming traffic at night and just in general.

I travel a route that takes me on to gravel road which already limits the speed I can do, but the path ahead isn't lit up too well by the current bulbs. I was thinking of either installing "Super Brite" bulbs or HID conversion. Which would you recommend? Since I don't want to be that "d**k" on the road other motorists complain about having obnoxiously bright bulbs
