How do I remove these minor (but obvious) scratches from my Toyota Auris audio system dashboard?

Hi all,

How do I remove these types of scratches from the audio system dashboard?

It's not plastic it's a much more finer looking material there. What I want to do is get the same colour and pain it over.

Anyone know what to get or who can do it?

Thanks

Never done it myself but I've heard that nail polish is the best thing for this type of thing. Don't try to rub it down, you'll only scratch it and make it look worse. Select a nail varnish that's as close as possible a match and touch up using the fine brush they usually come with.

The scratched trim parts can be removed fairly easily according to previous posts on removing the radio. Once they are off you should be able to get them repainted to match.

Hi guys,

Where can I get it repainted?

I guess it's just chipping rather than scratches.

You could try Chips Away or some place that do smart repairs.

Can't garages or something do it?

Take it to a bodyshop but it won't be cheap! With some aerosol, a bit of patience and practice you could have it apart, painted and refitted within a day for less than £25 with the help of a hair drier to help bake the paint :)
