2007 RAV4 Transmission fault

Hi everybody
This is my first time in here 

I bought RAV4 which is crashed (rear end is damaged). Now i decided to take the car for replacing of rear/trunk door. I've started car and understood that there is something wrong with transmission, because it is not shifting, and when i'm trying to accelerate RPM doesn't goes OVER 2, so the transmission is in emergency position. Could anyone of you advice me if there is a solution how to fix this problem? Can i do that by myself?
