I need to top up the brake fluid but the screw-on cap is directly under a plastic cover.

How do I remove the cover without damaging anything?  Me being a cack handed so and so. :-)

thanks      MIkeS.

You shouldn't need to top up the brake fluid unless it's gone below the minimum, which means there's a leak somewhere, if that is the case take it to the dealers under warranty.

The brake fluid level will go from somewhere near the MAX, down to somewhere near MIN as the pads wear down, this is normal and the level will go back up when the pads are replaced. If you top it up when it's within the marks, it will go over the MAX when the pads are replaced.

there's also a float in the reservoir cap with an electrical circuit that puts a warning light on the dash if the level falls too low
