2,0 D4D engine problems

Hi there

Hopefully you can help me.

I´ve been driving Toyota Hilux for many years and 4 years ago we bought an Auris 2,0 D4D from 2007 for the wife.

Last time I did the service, I cleaned the EGR-valve, changed fuel-, air- and oilfilter.

After this service, we havde had some engine-troubles.

When the engine is cold, and you let go in 1 gear and keep the engine running steady in the same rpm, the engine starts humping an bumping as it not ignites in all cylinders. If I accelerate there are no troubles, only when you drive at the same pace and rpm.

When the engine its hot, there no problems at all.

I have also changed the SCV-valve and have an software update, because we had som troubles starting when it was very cold.

Sorry for my English, I´m from Denmark :-)

Anybody knows what to do?

Lasse

Hi Lasse and welcome to the Toyota forum.

Have you checked your Mass Air Flow sensor and all the vacuum hoses / connections? Also there's a thread you might be interested in which was really about difficult starting when cold but might give you some help

Hi Tom

Thank you very much, and sorry for my late reaction.

We had startproblems in very cold weather below -5 degrees. But then I changed the SCV valve with the new version with high pressure and got a software update on the Toyota garage. Then it was no problem to get I running, but get a good running at steady rounds is worse. :-(

I'll check up about the connections and the air mass sensor....

Let you know if I got any results :-)
