Alloy Wheel Paint Code

Hi everybody,

Does anyone know the Paint Code for the 10-spoke Alloy Wheels that were fitted as standard to the 2013 MY Auris Excel Hybrid Sports Touring?  I've light damage to 2 alloys and would like to get the paint matched as near as possible.

The wheel type is shown below, but obviously hard to show the actual colour.

My local dealer in Norwich can't help (😟) as they say they can't get the codes from Toyota, and I'm waiting on an answer from Toyota UK HQ.  I expect the wheels are made in the UK as is the car, so hopefully somebody will know.

Thanks in anticipation.

why do you think that the wheels are made in the UK?

It should probably say on the inside of the wheel who the manufacturer is & where made but they will have been painted to a colour that Toyota will have agreed/specified.

"Made in the UK" was just a comment - or wishful thinking!  As the rest of the car is (allegedly), the wheels would also have made sense to be manufactured here.  Perhaps to much of a generalisation in these days and times.

I'll have a look when I remove a wheel to see if there is any information, but you would think Toyota GB could supply the answer.  Oh well, will see what develops.

Thank you.

It's certainly assembled in the UK & these days the Hybrid motor is built in Wales but parts will have come from a global supply chain.

I think that Team Dynamics is the largest UK oem for alloys but I don't know if they number Toyota as a customer - iirc the wheels for both my Avensis (again "made" in the UK) came from a nominally Continental (Belgian/Dutch iirc) supplier. However, there is nothing to stop them e.g. importing castings from China for finishing in Europe.

Virtually all vehicle manufacturers with plants in Europe source parts from within the European market. For examp!e, Ford no longer make any vehicles in the UK, but do manufacture up to 2 million engines annually in the UK.

In the UK, Toyota also produce the 1.33, 1.6 and 1.8 petrol engines and hybrid engines for the Auris and C-HR. Manual transmissions for the Auris, Avensis, Aygo, Corolla and Verso are made by Toyota Poland. 1.0 litre engines for the Czech built Aygo and French built Yaris are also produced in Poland.

Thanks for that - but with respect, nothing mentioned so far in the replies has anything to do getting the paint code I require.  Anybody can find out what's manufactured, where, and by who - and yes, in common with all multinational companies - wether automotive, IT, TV, Mechanical or electrical products, I know they source parts from from all over the world.  It just seemed logical to me to think that the wheels were manufactured here in the UK along with the car.

A search on Google, came up with the following company - link here http://www.ttuk.net/about-us.html

who are in Derbyshire, right next door to the main Toyota plant.  Have emailed them as they seem to be the offshoot that manufactures the wheels.  Here's hoping for an answer from them.  If not, then I'll keep looking for the information I actually need.

Those wheels look similar to what I have on mine. To be honest I thought they were a kind of plasticised finish because after I cleaned them a couple of times with a dry duster (one of those 'magic' cloths, forget what you call them) I found I had little scratches on the finish. It's not the type of finish that would respond well to metal polish so I've been careful. After my nearest and dearest kerbed one of them i fettled it out and touched up with Car Plan aluminium paint and tbh it looks OK. Or maybe we just don't talk about it any more. It'll be interesting to know whether you can get a spray can of matching colour but I wondeed if it was ionic deposition or similar type of finish.

Toyota oem alloys are painted, and clear laquer on top. Not polished etc.

Why dont you just take it to a paint shop and they can find a matching color? I need paint fir my former car, they had some kind of measuring device that they used to check the color from my car, and then mixed a matching color.

As thought, Toyota UK Head Office are unable to supply the code.  They don't keep them.  (Why I don't know, as alloys are always getting damaged these days - so can only assume it's one way of keeping the bodyshops busy (that's my take on it anyway).

Been into local Kett Autopaints in Norwich today.  Colour matched (as near as makes no difference) by using some swatches. Staff very helpful and got a can of spray which should do the job.  Will have a go over the weekend at getting the small areas of damage sorted.

Haven't had a reply from ttuk.net as yet - though not expecting a helpful answer anyway.

Toyota GB Plc is the sales & marketing company, Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK is the UK assembly/manufacturing company - which did you ask?

Most dealers these days will have their wheel repairs contracted out to a specialist.

Information about the wheel Is usually found moulded on the spokes behind the wheel. Normally just manufacturer, fitment size & country of origin. Never seen a paint code though, sorry, but it might help with narrowing it down.

Yo Mate, this topic is more than four years old.

You should really have started a new topic.

Welcome to the club, mate.

Toyota have updated their parts catalogue which now has paint codes for most ( not all ) alloy wheels, an example:

Toyota alloy wheels are made in Turkey. Main dealers should be able to supply code if necessary as they do sell wheels and perhaps offer repairs.

Some time ago I did ask on here re alloy wheel paint codes. I was reliably informed that they are/were not available and any franchised dealer alloy repairs were "farmed out" and a colour match estimated by comaparison to paint colour cards.

Referring to Devon Aygo's post it would seem that codes were available but not accessible in the parts catalogue.

Not only should dealers provide the code, if requested, Toyota should also make available rattle cans and touch up kits of the correct code and colour!

I eventually found and used a BMW wheel colour, which was a very close match, and spray painted two wheels on the same side of the car. At least they were a perfect match for each other!
