How To Mount A Handsfree Carkit?

Hi you all,

I'm thinking of building in the parrot Ck3000 handsfree carkit (Parrot CK3000).

Although everyone is telling me it's easy to install a handsfree carkit, I'm kind a looking up to it.

One of the reasons is that my radio is standard supplied by Toyota and integrated into the dashboard. As all the instructions only apply to a normal self-placed radio I'm thinking it's not going to be an easy job.

Before I continue I should point out I've never changed or repaired anything in my car and I'm not familiar with doing so. I can replace a broken taillight but that's about it. But I'm willing to give it a try.

The first problem I'm running into is that I don't even know how to open up the dashboard. Before I start Disassembling my Yaris :D I first want to know is íf it's not too hard to place something behind the radio or getting there. The owner manual is not so helpfull at this point and I can't seem to find any pictures on the net demonstrating building in something behind the radio/dashboard.

So here is my first question:

Does anybody know how to built in a handsfree carkit, open up the dashboard/radio or have any pictures on how to do this?

Thanks in advance,

Brinky

first of all check out the how to's at the top of the forum on how to take the dash apart as if you were fitting an aftermarket stereo

albeit different intentions but it will still be useful to show how the dash is dismantled

I'm starting to build in the car-kit today. I've looked at the manual of the carkit some time now and it seems to be quite easy.

Only question I got left is where should I connect the mute cable.

The car kit just extends all the wires from the radio but I need to make a selection on the carkit on which pin the mute is. I've got 3 options.

Can anyone tell me which of the pins of the 8 pins connector of the radio is the mute pin. Or can I just try them out, or will I blow a fuse then?

Grtz, you all
