Child booster seats in back of a 6th Gen. Help.

Hi

I recently bought a 1996 Celica GT and I'm struggling to fit the kids booster seats in the back safely. In order to clip a seatbelt in, the base of the booster is in an unstable position - a corner of the seat basically collapses into the 'dip' in the celica rear seats.

Anybody got any solutions to this? A cushion underneath to fill the void has been used a temporary measure but the wife thinks this is illegal.
