Super custom rear heater advice.

Hi everyone. We have recently bought a 2.4 auto super custom Royal, it is a long wheel base, hi top and we love it. We have converted it into a camper/day van and use it loads. The van has a hatch on the outside which has a leisure Battery in. We don't really understand this. Does it work the rear cabin heater and ceiling lights, or is the rear heater diesel? Can we hook up a 12v socket to it? Is it kept charged from the main Battery? So many questions that are confusing us. We don't want to fiddle with it and break something and a trip to an electrical vehicle specialist may be expensive. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers. Debbie in West Somerset.
