Corolla Verso climate control/heating problem

2005 1.8 petrol, 63000 miles.

I cannot get the air from the cabin vents to change temperature.

All the controls seem to operate correctly. Fan, mode, windscreen demist, fresh air/  recycle air. I can hear the aircon compressor kick in when a/c button pressed. The temperature control changes the displayed temp but no change in what comes out of vents.

The matrix pipes are hot behind the glovebox and coolant level is correct in expansion tank.

It seems the control isn't talking to a sensor or activating something.

Toyota service department have suggested a/the resistor but want the car in to investigate further. Anyone else encountered this?

I think I have checked everything obvious.

Any help appreciated

Lee

I have a similar issue OCCASIONALLY. I think it's a problem with air mixing flap thingy (whatever it's called). I experienced a similiar problem in an Audi A4 and a Citroen C5. In A4 hitting the centre bit a few times worked a treat ;) on the C5, changing the temp from max to min a few times normally was unblocking it. Replacement of these though, in both cars meant removing majority of the dashboard. On the CV, i think it's located by the drivers left leg, quite accessible, but that's just my suspicion, as i never looked into that.

Thanks for your reply.

The problem was the heater control motor and arm. Now been replaced free of chargeby independent dealer who sold me the car. It took perseverance but researching and quoting the Consumer Rights Act certainly helped.

My moto is never give UP if you feel you have a case and it worked. Would have cost £350 through local toyota garage.
