RAV 4 Manual gearbox drain plug querry

Does the 2006 RAV4 diesel still have a drain plug on the manual gearbox, I can find the level plug on the top right of my picture and two small allen key plugs on the left of my picture, the bottom one does not drain the box when removed.

When I remove the level plug there is plenty of oil still in the box.

Hi john, mine is a 2004 manual so can,t really confirm whether the same but if you send Ian an email at Roys motor company in Norwich independent Toyota/Lexus specialist I,m sure he will answer your query, send him the picture and he will tell you I would imagine very helpful. sales@roysmotorcompany.co.uk

Hi Phil.

It seems that Toyota have stopped fitting a gearbox drain on the MkIII RAV4, I used a large syringe with a bent copper pipe to suck the old oil out, it

managed to draw out about 98% of the old oil.
