Greetings,Fellow Members.

On a Toyota RAV4,2007,do the front brake pads have little springs top and bottom to stop the pads from sliding up and down when using forward ans reverse braking? The reason I ask is that my brake pads make a clunk noise when I brake from forward and reverse.I'd appreciate your combined wisdom. Many thanks.kblevis.

There's a thread here that covers the brakes on the Rav 4.2 which I believe is much the same as yours, the items in question are referred to as Pad Support Plates.

I have only known a clunking from the back on this model. and thats because the small handbrake shoes do move slightly, but the front never....
