Aygo Rear Door Lock Sticking - Solved

The passenger side rear door button of my 5 door Aygo would not respond to the key button, both during opening and closing, unless it was pressed multiple times.

I decided to investigate it myself before taking it to the garage and I was glad I did. What had happened was that the mastic sealant that secures to white insulation sheet to the door had oozed into the clip that secures the horizontal push rod to the door. I cleaned it up with some silicone lubricant and a cocktail stick. It now works like new.

I thought I would share this as it may prove helpful to others and may save an unnecessary repair bill. It may also be applicable to other models.
