Avensis t27 tail light replacement?

I think the T27 Facelift taillights are much nicer than my 2009 originals. So..does anyone have any information if it's possible to install the T27 Facelift tail lights on a pre-facelift? Is it possible to just replace the lens cover, or must the complete unit be changed?
