The car is back to normal. Getting the recalls done on the 16th.

Wish they would make their mind up about the window switch.

I got one letter saying it needed it 6 months ago and then shortly after, another letter saying it didn't need it. Now last week I got a letter saying it does.

They have made a "boob" there is a vin range of affected Auris but cars with "All Auto" windows aren't affected so they initially called all cars back then realised that they could filter out the cars with "All Auto" windows so they wrote and called off the recall, then last week someone re-ran the mailings for cars not yet fixed but forgot the exclude "All Auto" windows and have written to loads of customers not needing a recall.

Thank you for the information, just checked my one doesn't need replacement of the switch despite having a letter earlier. I was wonder why had letter few months ago than when went to do the fuel canister they said that's all you need to change.

Looks like they have made the same boob for the second time, I have 2 letters saying my car needs the window switch and 2 letters saying it doesn't. Sounds like their computer system is the bit that needs the recall, or the person using it.

If a car is involved in an official DVSA recall, any letters would come from Toyota GB, using owner information provided by DVLA, rather than the dealer. Sometimes the information held by DVLA is not up to date for a variety of reasons and not necessarily down to DVLA.

So if in doubt contact Toyota GB directly, mention that the recall checker is showing your car is affected by this recall, but you haven't had any written notification.

Just rung Toyota GB, they confirm their mailing list comes from.DVLA

But they taken my details now :)

Next port of call. dVLA?

I won't be happy if they tell me the same. How many recall letters have you had about the switch?

  • 2 weeks later...

Had my charcoal canister replaced today. I enjoyed driving a 2016 hybrid Yaris as a courtesy car, still glad to get my own back afterwards.

What about the car lol

I got to drive a 2016 Yaris hybrid, while mine was in. Not much different from the 2013 Yaris hybrid mums got. Prefer my Auris any day [emoji3]

Just wondered if it was connected to the leak

Interesting...

The leak is on the left light cluster

The shunt was on the right side of the right light cluster

But, possibly the shunt might have moved something?

Will see if new seals will fix...

Ant!

U checked yours?

I rung dealer:

Me: Have leaked in boot seems like rear cluster lights, is it covered by Warranty?

Dealer: We can't say if its covered by warranty, that's for head office to decide.

 - We will do a leak test and then let head office decide

I just emptied the boot

The boot well is bone dry

but the tissue I placed just below the rear cluster lights is soaked

So,waiting for this Thursday for:

1. Charcoal Canister replacement

2. Leak test
