Internal door handle removal - 1996 2 door

Good afternoon

My first posting on this forum..

My wife has inherited her fathers' '96 Corolla Sportif 2 door (with 62k miles). It has a drivers door lock which will not unlock, just lock with the key. I have seen videos on YouTube on how to remove the lock to either lubricate or replace, but all the videos I have seen refer to the internal screw-held door handle, and of course the one I have does not have a screw but it is held in place by some unknown force! All other screws, winders etc, have come off very easily but I am stumped by this handle..

Can anyone give me a clue how I can remove the handle please? I'm sure it has cropped up before but I cannot find it anywhere..

Thanks in anticipation..

Peter

Yes.... Usually a 'hidden' screw!

Try pulling the lever (open the door) out fully & then try to make the 'backing cup' (where it rests, when shut) move away from the door lock edge = toward the hinges...'sliding up & across' the doorcard

It may be just a slipon/plastic lug/on retaining lugs... Dunno :(
