Hi ,I'm a new member and I am looking for help with a problem with my 2008 1.8 petrol toyota carola verso.

The car runs fine when warmed up but on cold starting revs to 2100 rpm ,once warm revs settle down to 700 - 800 rpm.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi,

Is the car new to you ?

It sounds quiet normal for any engine,  its the "auto choke" coming on keeping the revs up with a richer mixture while cold, after a couple of miles / 5 mins  it should be normal revs as the temp has increased like you say.
