Oil temp gauge sensor placement...

Hi guys got both my oil temp and oil pressure gauges in car , pressure gauge works great but oil temp won't get a reading, I know the sensor and gauge are OK if u put sensor in water it reads the temp ,but when I put it into the adaptor into the block I get no reading.....if I put sensor straight into the engine block with no adaptor I get a reading...it's to-do with grounding of the switch....I've red there's 2 places to tap into the engines oil flow for oil temp or oil pressure gauges , one is the original oil pressure switch and another is on top of the head, anyone got any pics or know where bouts it is on top of the head, please as this is doing my head in....thanx....IMAG0633_1_1.thumb.jpg.355e668c1ba91848a

Silly question mate. Is it not the adaptor in some way...can you test that!

Got to be adaptor but can't just put oil temp gauge sensor in to block as different thread to block, thought I could use original oil pressure switch location for original with and new oil pressure gauge and other location for oil temp sensor..but don't know where on head it is.....even put a bit of wire from threads on temp gauge sensor to negative on Battery for proper grounding and still no reading....only works directly into block....

Strange mate in it! I'd go to a dealer and the parts bit. Ask him.

I did it at citroen 3 years ago with my old van. Fault with the interior lights. Short story the mechanic got me the wiring diagram and drawn where to look.

Job done.

I'd drive in with your car and just ask them. One dealer will show you buddy!

Well tried the other hole where the lift pressure switch is, no joy, so put back into the oil pressure switch next to the oil filter, got pressure gauge working but again no oil temp 😬😬 so thinking it may be cause sender is chrome plated !!! So ordered another not chrome coated only £7 so no biggi...if this doesn't work I don't know .....I'm totally stuck .......
