What's the little red push button on the high level brake light for?

Looking around the Aygo, getting it prepped for MOT, I noticed a little red push button on the high level brake light.

Everything is working, so I'm not going to push it just for the sake of it, but does anyone know what it's for?

That's where the water comes from when you clean the rear window!!!

 

Never ever push a red button... It's always bad!!!
