DPF removal and clean

Chaps

Firstly, anyone have any idea of the ease (or not!) of removing the DPF from a 2008 T180?

Secondly, I would like to clean it out and free it of all the accumulated soot and ash as a preventative measure. It does regenerate, but at present not enough due to my using it for shorter journeys, and I fear a clog up is imminent. Thinking of soaking it in some sort of cleaning agent and back-washing with a jet washer.
