Hi guys new to the forum and wonder if you could help me.

Ive just found out my car cant be mapped so looking at tuning boxes, can anyone recommend me one but one that fits my car as there seems to be so many different units...

My car is -

2003 Toyota Avensis 2.0 D4D 1CD FTV (timing belt not chain)

ive been asked if mine is the QTG OR QTU but ive no idea how to find this out.

Also ive checked the fuel rail and mine is a 6 pin connector not a 3.

i just want to get the right application also have no one seems to have mentioned how hard the plug is to get to! what a job

please help

thanks

Hi Craig...welcome to the Forum

Here is a link to a company I have used for a tuning box on my Honda CRV and have to say it works a treat

List of Toyota models covered   https://www.diesel-performance.co.uk/toyota-diesel-tuning

I wrote a review of it for the Owners Club and you can read that here  http://www.drivn.co.uk/electronic-engine-tuning-guide/

Also, not trying to sell one to you or anything like that but as a Premium member of this Forum you can get something like £80 off...worth considering

Cheers  Trevor

  • 10 months later...

Upadate on this i fitted the chip and in honesly i made zero difference, i have a road where i start from the same point aprox half a mile flat out and before id be doing 95mph with the chip fitted its exactly the same so in terms of performance zero gain at all. same goes for fuel economy also.
