Mr2 Turbo Please Help

Alright so I'll get straight to the point here; my 91 Mr2 Turbo with the 3SGTE engine is having start up issues. The car will crank but won't start up and run. It cranks faster when pressing the gas pedal but the car won't start up and run. Here's some backstory; I bought this car and pulled out the engine to replace stock pistons with forged, high compression pistons as well as change rings and resurface head as well as clean up the valves and springs. now the care is back together with a new head gasket and timing belt as well as spark plugs and spark plug wires. I know the timing is correct as I removed the valve cover to check notches on the cams lining them up with the crankshaft at TDC. I've positioned the distributor right in the sweet spot where it sounds like the car wants to start and I've checked spark to all the wires with no problems. I know there is gas going through the fuel rail because I forgot the fuel return line when I went to start it up the first time and gas spilled everywhere. I put a quarter tank of 91 premium since then but the car won't start up. I was thinking it could be a bad fuel pump? If you can help that'd be very nice, thank you for listening.
