Replacing 5th Injector - Verso T180

Hi,

Another dreaded Verso T180 owner here.

Another driving a Verso T180 with poor MPG and regular white smoke trails...

I've made some investigations and spoken to both the local Toyota main dealer and independent Toyota expert, so far I have learnt that there are;

No Error codes, the four main injectors are clear and working fine, EGR is now working correctly and clean (I fitted a new one due to original not closing properly), manifold clean... and despite this still 'regen' is regular (usually when up to temp) - not as bad as pre-new EGR, but still evident, and MPG is around 25 around town and max 40 on an M-Way at a steady 70... So, possibly cause according to both mechs is the 5th injector, which may be 'dribbling'?

Toyota main dealer price is around £800-£900 to supply and fit, however Toyota specialist told me that you can source one from eBay for as little as £40, and he'd fit it within an hour, However... Anyone know what the eBay ones are like or fitted one?? Look like Chinese copies of  the DENSO OEM,

Questions; Does this sound right - 5th injector could be faulty?

Secondly, Can these eBay injectors be trusted? I am assuming they were sourced via Alibaba, so unclear as to whether they are total snides or they've got hold of the OE tooling? Not sure how complex this part is or if it is not a risk?

The part in question is the 5th Injector - Denso Part Number 23710-26011
