Key fob failed to unlock car whilst parked in supermarket car park. I unlocked car (drivers door) manually and upon opening door alarm activated, switched off using fob, entered vehicle turned on ignition, dashboard lights came on but car did not start and dash lights went out.  Tried several times but car will not start so reluctantly called out green flag assistance.

Mechanic attended tried various options, could not start car and towed me home.

Any suggestions please what I may have done to cause this problem would be appreciated
