Right. I have had grief with my air bag light. Have gone to the local Toyota dealer who said take the car to an Auto Electrician. I did. He checked my car and found the air bag system was working fine. 

The indicator lamp does not work. The dash display system has been taken out, all the bulbs replaced and checked. Yet the light does not work.

The auto electrician suggests I find a replacement dash display unit and try that. 

I am a bit baffled as to what goes on. If the air bag system is working, the dash display connected properly, then the light should work. Short of that the Auto Electrician says he would need to remove the whole of the dash system from the car and begin a serious look into every connector. Oh boy. The car is not worth much but is held in high esteem as naturally, it is a Toyota in otherwise good condition runs well and makes me happy. I prefer driving this vehicle to my newer Avensis.

This may fit. A simple swap over. The mileage will be wrong but that won't be an issue. I had to do a similar swap years ago as the fuel needle had failed.
