Windshield Rubber Seal

Hi,

What is this, and is it worth removing the windshield to fix it?

It has been like this since new, but doesn't seem to be a problem.

Its not a seal and the windscreen does not need removing, the best description i can give it is a "guide" or a "stopper". Its fitted before the screen sealant and screen, when the screen is fitted a bead of sealant is caulked on then the screen placed/floated on the sealant the "guide/stopper" ensures the screen does not come too close to or touch the bodywork.

As it serves no real purpose either tuck it away or trim it off.

Just curious as to why you didn't or still don't go to your dealership to enquire and/or get them to sort it out?

Because they're 30 miles away, not near where I go normally, and there is no rush. If I thought it was a serious problem, I'd take it there immediately! I'm not avoiding them.
