Corolla E10 Sill Bungs (or Grommets or Plugs) removal?

In addition to my Camry I have a 1994 Corolla Executive.

This is a very basic question but I can't find the answer on here, on the internet or in my Haynes Manual.

I don't know what they are called but there appear to be bungs that can be removed from the sills to allow access. How do they come out - do they just pull out? I didn't want to pull if I should unscrew them or vice-versa

If they're plastic/rubber it should be a case of using the edge of something (credit card, screwdriver) and levering it out.

The E10 sill grommets do, indeed, just pull out. They appear to be quite robust so I didn't damage any despite them being 23 years old. I used one of those proper plastic grommet removal tools to get them started.
