Hot air

Hi people I'm new to this but have a problem with my heating in the car first the climate control won't come on for a while then i have to press the buttons randomly to get it to work the if I turn the temp right down it just blows hot air ? has anyone else had this as have had a quote for £1,300 to replace the climate control panel
