Yaris 2016 USB Problem

Hi everyone

I've just bought my third yaris. A 2016 Yaris Design. I love it. Now the only problem I'm having with it is the USB. I've got a 128gb USB 3 SanDisk USB stick. So far I've got about 80gb on music on it. They are mp3s and are in folders. Now my yaris detects the stick and starts playing music but if I go to look by song, artist etc it just shows nothing.

Does the format of the drive matter or the fact I have lots of sub folders?

Why is this?

It's because the structure of you folders needs to follow a particular hierarchy for it all to work. Usually, that would be /artist/album title/tracks and then it should all just work but be aware that it takes a LOT of time for the first pass through a large (greater tan 10Gb in size) catalogue. It took about 15 minutes to get through my 26Gb one! (before anything appeared!)

OK. I do have my file structure like that, artist, album and then tracks. After the first pass will it then load up faster every time? Also if I remove the pen drive at a later date to add more music will it need to search for everything again?

Just thinking can I add music in 10gb blocks so it finds them faster each time.

It's been my experience that if you don't make any changes or additions, after the first (very long) pass through, it will load fast every time after that BUT if you so much as add (or delete) one album or track, it seems to have to reread the whole catalogue from the start again for some ridiculous reason. It's a bit pants actually!
