Noise from instrument panel

Hello - I'm a convert to the Auris Hybrid having purchased one just a week ago, since when I've driven about 370 miles on A roads and Motorways.

I'm getting a "plonk" sound from the instrument panel which occurs intermittently and randomly. Having at first though it might be an indicator of an upcoming speed camera or a warring that I'm exceeding the speed limit, it appears that it occurs when the needle is moving around within the "Eco" sector on the dial. I've searched the handbook in vain for any information on what this might be trying to tell me.

If anyone on the forum can help enlighten me I'd be really grateful.

Difficult to say what the "plonk" is, could you get a video/recording ?
