Simple question about changing coolant.

Hi,

2012 2L  D-4D Avensis.

This is such a dumb question and if I could get a Haynes Manual for my car I'd be OK !

when I change the coolant in my car, do I just fill the rad to the top and fill to the correct level in the expansion tank, let the car idle and top up as needed?

Or is there anything special I need to do?

I've changed coolant loads of times, but some cars have bleed screws or need the heater fully open etc etc.

iirc you shouldn't need to change the coolant on an a 2012 Avensis until it's 10 years old or has 100K miles. I guess the latter has been reached?

No, I've had to remove the turbo as it's broken and the water pipes needed disconnecting and half the water is on the ground.

Any advice from anybody on anything more than topping it up once the engine is running again?

I was sure somebody could tell me how to fill the coolant!

Such a basic question.

I'll just fill it like any other car and hope for the best.
