New tyre

Crikey, I seem to have hi-jacked this thread, not once but twice now....First with a different tyre size and now with Fish and Chips!....Sorry, Folks.

Anyway, I hope that @Bitch1001 has got as much useful info about tyres as I have and, Jo.....If you do fancy a set of those Goodyear Duragrip that you used to have, then the best price that I can come up with is at National Tyres where they are £56.95 apiece :

https://www.national.co.uk/tyres-search?Width=165&Profile=60&Diameter=15&Rating=&LoadIndex=

I can't find the Goodyear Vectors in your size and you're right, you are really limited on available tyres (Especially an all season tyre) in the 165/60/15 size, which is odd given the number of Mark 2 Aygo/Citroen C1/Peugeot108 models that I see on the road.

Anyway, sorry again about hi-jacking your thread, Jo but as you've joined in.....Don't go to St Ives in Cornwall for Fish and Chips, the seagulls there don't escort you, they actually mug you!

All the best!

I have access to a Toyota spreadsheet on OE tyres which is subject to live updates, and all second generation Aygo's with 15 inch wheels, regardless of whether they have steel or alloy wheels, use 165/60/R15 77H tyres.

The only other tyre size for UK Aygo's is for 14 inch wheels and that is just the 'X' - some countries have another 'rough road' tyre size on 14 inch wheels.

Just washed my 2016 Aygo X-play - that has 165/60R15 77H tyres (Continental Eco Contact 5's).

£56.95 is a really decent price. I remember being offered them for £50 by mate a while back, but deal expired I guess.

The diameter will go up from 22.8" to 23.4", an increase of 2.6% - the maximum change usually recommended is 2%.

Can I fit 165/65R15 on my Aygo instead of the 165/60R15 ?

As PetrolDave says, probably not recommended, as if you have the tyre pressure monitor system fitted, it'll play havoc with that.

The reason being, but don't quote me, is that it relies on feedback from the wheel sensors. If one wheel isn't spinning at the same speed as all the rest, then the system assumes you have a flat tyre and warns you.

If all 4 tyres are swapped and the TPMS reset the TPMS *should* be OK but the issue of larger diameter will make the speedo and odometer read incorrectly.

I had my goodyear vector all seasons fitted last Thursday, went with the standard size, and I still had the tyre pressure warning come on when I drove her on Sunday. Presumed Halfords didn't reset the ecu, but there is a button in the glovebox, so I did it myself.

That's correct operation of the TPMS, whenever the tyres themselves or even tyre pressures are changed the TPMS button should be pressed - to tell the software that monitors the wheel speed sensors to expect slightly different rotational speeds due to the change in tyre overall diameter.
