First ever Toyota!

Decided it's probably time to join up on here properly after a few Google searches led me to these pages!

I'm Clive, from Worcester.  I have just picked up a bargain 2005 Corolla 1.6VVTi Colour Collection as a daily hack for work after a previous heap let me down.  This one seems like it may be more reliable and, seeing as it's only really needed as a cheap commuter until we have moved house, i'm having thoughts about making a cheap track day car out of it afterwards.

Anyway, chances are that I will need to seek information from you guys as these Japanese cars are all new to me as a Volkswagen person!

Welcome, Clive

Glad to see you've stepped up from VW to Toyota.....hope the "rolla" does well for you.

I've had a succession of Toyotas...and thus far, have not been let down or disappointed.

Thank you for the welcome guys.

I've been an owner of at least one VW/VAG-based car constantly since 1999, until my 2.0TDI Passat threw it's oil pump last November shortly after putting our house on the market.  The timing was impeccable really as, with all spare money wanting to be saved towards the new house, a replacement car was the last thing on my mind.  I picked up a rough Vectra for £500 that I thought would get me through the move.  Unfortunately the sale didn't happen and we took the house off the market for a few weeks before re-listing a month ago.  Realising that I wasn't going to be ready to buy a decent car before the Vectra MOT was due, I had to bite the bullet....it failed.  The search for another cheap replacement was on when a friend came to me with news on the Corolla.  I got my name on it and couldn't turn it down for £300! :)   It's not perfect, but it's better than the Vauxhall was by a long way, and I think it's got potential for a good bit of fun when I no longer need it to commute!
