Injector lifespan?

Hello just a quick one but what is the injector lifespan roughly on the d4d engines mines the 2 litre 06 plate.  I'm just putting savings aside for possible issues later on and looked at the price per injector on euro car parts and they're something like 450 each!!  That's eye watering.  Anyhow I only payed 2k for my car and don't really want that to ever happen.  I run my car on BP ultimate most of the time or just bp standard if I'm a bit short on cash.

My cars on 76k with a good service history oil changes and the lot etc.  Now should I be worried about this or not as I'm pretty sure I read up toyota have to change them as they have to be programmed to the ecu and not just changed and also that you can't change just one?

Also is it worth using any injector cleaner additive or is running my car on BP ultimate good enougj as I've heard mixed opinions on diesel additives.

The only other thing that worries me is the clutch as it is biting quite high up and I've seen that the clutch and flywheel are around 900 for just parts!!  Unless you buy a non original one think it's a valeo one with flywheel they are around 5-600.  Are a Toyota parts this extortionate.  My clutch is heavy and is quite high biting.

Ben,

Ecp has discount code almost all the time. On 109k and the injectors are still going...dont know much about the diesel though.

I've changed my clutch at around 100k I think, still had couple of mm left on the plate, £50 odd for a valeo clutch kit. I didnt flywheel as it was a good condition.

My clutch is right at the top and kangaroos the car regardless of how slow I lift it and try to pull away nicely.  Won't it all have to be stripped out to see the flywheel condition I can't do this myself hence not wanting to pay labour twice if flywheel is naff.  I've been told I'm looking around 1300 for clutch and flywheel!!!  I payed 2k for car the only thing worth doing at that price is fire and lots of it.  I cannot find a cheap clutch and flywheel anywhere. I don't know how to tell if flywheels naff either.

wow £1300? Is the from Toyota dealer?

Mr. Clutch was quoting me something like £300 and local garage £350. I ended up doing it myself, as I am just bit suspicious of cowboys.

Yes, you'll have to remove the gearbox and clutch to inspect the flywheel. If its a local garage I guess you can get the parts its you need to replace it, just that you'll be a day or so longer without the car.

If you have a dm flywheel they say its false economy not to replace it when fitting a new clutch.

Using the cheapest brands you cannot expect as good a life as the better makes.

Check on BluePrints parts and prices, the seem well liked by the trade;  but beware popular selling sites as seems there are a lot of inferior copy clutch kits  being sold cheap.

Try looking up local 'clutch and gearbox/transmission ' specialist garages who often have lower fitting prices and will give you options of what make of parts they will fit or makes they recommend as they are guaranteeing their work. typically for 2 years, 24k miles

Re the injector cleaners, Wheeler Dealer Ed China ran some tests using Redex and it did give a marked mpg improvement, but he said only use one bottle as using all the time is not worthwhile.
